History of the Prescott Rally

The Prescott Rally, known from 1985 to 2002 as the Prescott Forest Rally, has been one of the premier performance rally events in the southwestern United States for many years. Initially organized by local rallyist Rob Cherry, it first ran as a SCCA Divisional PRORally in 1985.

In 1986 it became part of the California Rally Series (CRS) and has been a nearly constant fixture on the CRS calendar since then. In 1992 and again from 1994 through 1996 it counted for 60% National points in the SCCA PRORally Championship. In 1993 and again from 1997 through 2001 it was a full points event on the PRORally/ProRally calendar.

From 2003 until 2005, and again in 2007 it was a points event in the Western States Rally Championship (WSRC). From 2006 through 2012 it was part of the United States Rally Championship (USRC), and in 2013, 2015, and 2017 it was the NASA National Rally Championship (NNRC) event.

2024 will be the 32nd running of the event.
